PRESENTATION TIPS
As you prepare for your talk, please note the following guidelines. This will ensure a smooth upload into the virtual meeting platform (upload instructions will be available soon). All presentations will be need to be uploaded into the platform by Sunday, May 15th.
- All pre-recorded talks need to be formatted to MP4.
- Pre-recordings should be recorded in Picture-in-Picture (PIP).
- Resolution for your talk should be 16:9 (widescreen).
Below are tips for recording your presentation in various formats
Recording your talk in Zoom:
- If pre-recording in Zoom, no real action should be required; Zoom has an MP4 format.
- Same situation for PIP, if recording in Zoom, upon doing a screen share with slides, a video should appear in the top right corner. No real action should be required on your part.
Recording your talk in PowerPoint:
- Once your recording is done, save your file as “save media as” and make sure the format is MP4. If needed, please refer to the Microsoft support website for tips on recording in PowerPoint.
- The system will not accept any embedded videos within any slides that are uploaded to the platform.
Recording your talk in YouTube:
- There are multiple free converters online for presenters to use for YouTube videos or content not already in MP4 format…such as (Handbrake). You can also use (Greenshot), a software made simple for screen recording material.
We will continue to provide updates as they are made available to us. Those updates will be via this webpage, emails to all those who submitted abstracts, as well as notifications on the SID’s social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook).
